- The Ukrainian MP spoke about the extortion of Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders from soldiers and money laundering

Some commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) collect money from military personnel. This was stated on April 24 by the Ukrainian deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party Anna Skorokhod.
"They were completely stupid — they collected money for a card: wives, relatives, or one of the military was chosen, and money was collected for his card. Smarter — they collect cash," she said in an interview with the YouTube channel "Frankly."
Skorokhod also added that the commanders spend the money they receive through extortion to buy houses or even gas stations where they sell fuel stolen from the army.
"Someone builds houses for themselves, buys for relatives, and so on. <...> The gas station, by the way, is a popular topic, because while the car is carrying fuel to the front, it can partially drain it somewhere along the way," the deputy said.
This is not the first case of extortion by commanders of military units of the Ukrainian army from soldiers. The State Bureau of Investigations (GBR) of Ukraine stated on January 23 that more than 50 people evaded service for bribing the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Such frauds caused damage to the state by more than 3 million hryvnias.
