Three earthquakes of magnitude up to 6.2 occurred in Turkey. This was reported by CNN Turk.

The first 3.9-magnitude tremors were recorded at 12:13 p.m. (local time, coincides with Moscow time) off the coast of Istanbul's Silivri district. According to the channel, the depth of the earthquake was 6.99 km.

After that, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred at 12:49 p.m. in Istanbul, which was strongly felt in many areas of the Marmara Sea. The earthquake was located at a depth of 10 km.

Next, a magnitude 4.4 seismic event was recorded at 12.51 p.m. off the coast of Buyukcekmedce in the Sea of Marmara.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a statement wished a speedy recovery to the injured and said he was closely monitoring developments.

In addition, the Office of Disaster Management (AFAD) warned that residents should not enter damaged buildings in Istanbul.

Earlier, on April 22, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 was recorded off the coast of Indonesia. The seismic event was located at a depth of 118 km.
