The Izvestia journalist won the prize of the Competition of Young International Journalists

The material by Izvestia journalist Dmitry Laru "Korean scenarios: how the DPRK differs for foreigners and for ordinary citizens" was recognized as the best report on international issues at the Competition of Young International Journalists. The award ceremony was held on April 22 in the conference hall of the Russian Council on International Affairs (RIAC).

According to TASS, 67 applications were selected to participate in the competition. According to RIAC President Igor Ivanov, the contestants considered "complex topics" in their works, within which they conducted an in-depth analysis.

Ivan Kuzmin won in the nomination "the best analytical article on international issues" with his work "Two-faced Janus. The export of German weapons to the countries of the Saudi Coalition."

Dmitry Popov took the first place in the "best interview on international issues" category. As part of it, he spoke with Alexey Chikhachev, an expert from the INF and the Valdai discussion club. During the conversation, they discussed the topic of the parliamentary elections in France.

The award ceremony was attended by the President of the RIAC, head of Rossotrudnichestvo Evgeny Primakov, Secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia Timur Shafir, Deputy Director General of the Interfax Group Igor Porshnev, editor-in-chief of the magazine "International Life" Armen Oganesyan.

Earlier, in October last year, the multimedia Information Center (MIC) Izvestia won two awards following the results of the XXI International Competition "Shield and Pen – 2024". The competition was held by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It is specified that the director general of the center, Vladimir Tyulin, was awarded in the "Changing Together" nomination. In the "Police of Trust" nomination, the prize was awarded to Mikhail Emelin, a correspondent of the program "Emergency Call, 112" of the REN TV channel.
