The Second Eastern District Military Court sentenced a resident of the Irkutsk region to seven years in a penal colony for promoting terrorism. This was reported on April 22 in the press service of the instance.
According to the investigation, the man posted calls for terrorism and activities against Russia's security on Telegram, as well as text messages containing propaganda from terrorist organizations.
"The court sentenced Konovalov to imprisonment in a general regime colony for a period of seven years <...> and with restriction of liberty for a period of one year and six months," the Telegram channel of the Second Eastern District Military Court said.
It is clarified that the defendant has also been prohibited from engaging in electronic correspondence and sending messages on Internet messengers for three years.
On April 18, it was reported that a resident of the Moscow Region was sentenced to seven years in prison for publicly calling for terrorist activities. It is noted that 50-year-old Melnikov A. posted images and comments on them on a social network that contain signs of justifying terrorism.
