Child benefits will not arrive in May: the schedule of benefits payments has been published

In May, the procedure for paying child benefits will change. The dates have moved forward due to the long May holidays, which will last a total of eight days. Izvestia reports on how the schedule will change and when parents will receive money for children in April and May 2025.

Payments to families with children for the current month are usually made before the 3rd of the following month. Based on this schedule, the April benefits were due no later than May 3. However, since this day falls on a non-working Saturday, and the first and second of May are also non-working holidays, payments will be made in advance. The money for April will be transferred on Wednesday, April 30th.

Thus, in April, parents will receive benefits twice — for March and April. Child allowances will not be paid in May. The next charges will be received on June 3, during which time the May payment will arrive. Further payments will be accrued according to the standard schedule. It also clarifies that the changes will affect only a few categories of recipients. According to the new schedule, parents will receive benefits in connection with the birth or adoption of their first child, and military families where one of the parents is undergoing military service. Early payment is also provided in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child and child care.

For parents and expectant mothers who have applied for child cash benefits for the first time, payments will be received as standard — within five working days after the appointment.

Last time, the schedule of children's payments changed due to the New Year holidays. Then the money for the last month of the year was transferred at the end of December, shortly before the New Year.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that since February 2025, the amount of child benefits has increased by 9.5%.
