The European Union (EU) countries should not talk to Russia in the language of superiority. This was announced on April 20 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin.

"You don't need to talk to Russia in such a language [of superiority]. And if this "coalition of willing" is led by at least some sane leaders, then they should quickly realize this," Lavrov said in an interview published on the journalist's Telegram channel.

The Foreign Minister stressed that the leaders of the EU countries are following the path of reviving Nazi ideology in Europe and "shouting" belligerent and hostile slogans against Russia.

Lavrov added that Russia is ready for an open discussion of any problems, but expects decent behavior from those with whom it will negotiate.

Earlier in the day, Lavrov said that the EU ban on member states visiting Russia during the celebration of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War on May 9 rehabilitates the ideology of Nazism. According to him, the Russian side will "make every effort" to ensure that European countries return to their "true values" and that Nazi views do not spread in them.

On April 12, the Russian Foreign Minister stressed that NATO's efforts are now focused on preparing for a new confrontation, with Germany, France and the United Kingdom at the head of this. At the same time, he stressed that Euro-Atlantic structures have failed in ensuring security and stability.
