- The media learned about the attempts of companies from the United States to obtain exceptions to Trump's duties

Manufacturing companies from the United States are trying to achieve exceptions in their industries against the background of the imposed trade duties on imports of goods from China. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on April 19, citing sources.
"Car companies, toy manufacturers, farmers, retailers and all those who face significant cost increases due to President Donald Trump's new heavy tariffs on goods from China are intensifying their lobbying for the administration to obtain exemptions and assistance," the material says.
At the same time, it is clarified that without a formal request-making process and the direct participation of the American leader in the approval, such an initiative by companies "runs into a wall."
According to a source close to the White House, companies without government patronage can be completely excluded from the tariff decision-making process.
On April 9, Trump announced an immediate increase in tariffs on Chinese products to 125%. However, on April 10, this figure reached 145%.
Chinese economist Andrew Leung, in turn, told Izvestia that the tariffs that Trump is imposing on imports from China and Mexico will lead to an increase in consumer prices in the United States itself.
