Iran and the United States are considering an agreement that will allow the Islamic Republic to develop peaceful nuclear energy. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.

"The United States and Iran have agreed to move on to the next stage of their discussions aimed at concluding a fair <...> deal that will ensure Iran's complete freedom from <...>.. sanctions and will preserve its opportunities for the development of peaceful nuclear energy," the message says.

In addition, the Omani Foreign Ministry said the next round of talks will be held in Muscat in the coming days.

Earlier, on April 19, at the second stage of negotiations between Iran and the United States in Rome, the Iranian delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. Washington was introduced by the President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. Before the start, Araqchi said that a nuclear deal was possible if there were no "unrealistic demands."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 18 that Russia was ready to mediate and play any role in the negotiations between the two countries. The head of the department also said that the Islamic Republic is ready to seek this agreement within the framework of the agreement on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
