US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a telephone conversation. This was announced on April 18 by the Government of the United Kingdom.

"The leaders started by discussing the ongoing and productive discussions between the UK and the US on trade. The Prime Minister reaffirmed his commitment to free and open trade and the importance of protecting national interests," the press release said.

During the conversation, the world leaders raised the issue of military action against the rebel Yemeni movement Ansar Allah, and also discussed the situation in Ukraine and Iran.

"They agreed to stay in touch," the government concluded.

On April 17, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a telephone conversation and discussed the Ukrainian conflict. During the conversation, the Russian minister confirmed Moscow's readiness to continue working together with Washington to reliably eliminate the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine.
