Russian representative offices of a number of Chinese car brands have denied their withdrawal from the Russian market and announced their plans for 2025. The companies are distributing statements in response to the publication of Kommersant, whose interlocutors reported that the brands Oting, Kaiyi, SWM, Livan, VGV and MG are at risk.

So, on April 18, representatives of the VGV brand announced on their social networks that the company had successfully completed 2024, started shipping cars in 2025 and was preparing to show a new model.

The day before, a similar denial was made by the press service of the Mir Distributor company, which represents the British-Chinese MG brand in Russia.

She stated that she started 2025 with a minimal stock of cars, avoiding the need to artificially stimulate demand by sharply lowering prices; with a preserved and strengthened dealer network, unlike a number of other brands facing a reduction in presence; and with expansion plans, including the release of new models.

"The warranty obligations are fulfilled in full. Service support and spare parts supplies are carried out without interruption. The dealer network is not only preserved, but is also preparing to expand," the MG distributor emphasized.

Representatives of the Sinomach concern announced on April 17 that the Oting brand will expand the range of models available on the Russian market. So, in the fourth quarter of this year, two new pickup trucks will appear in the Russian Federation, which are currently undergoing certification, and next year a full-size Oting SUV based on the Nissan Patrol platform will enter the market.

The day before, it was reported that Gak Motor Rus announced a recall of 16.9 thousand GS8 cars in Russia, which were sold between July 17, 2023 and March 24, 2025.

Jetour also announced on April 17 that it will present two new SUVs named G700 and G900 at the Shanghai Auto Show, which starts on April 23.
