- The PMR announced the deterioration of the dialogue with Chisinau after the expulsion of Russian diplomats

The expulsion of Russian diplomats from Moldova does not contribute to improving relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, but further complicates cooperation. This was announced on April 18 by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR) Vitaly Ignatiev.
"Such steps certainly complicate cooperation and worsen the atmosphere of dialogue. It is important to understand that the peacekeeping operation is the main and most effective mechanism for maintaining peace and security on the Dniester, which has proven its high functional stability over the past 33 years," Ignatiev told RIA Novosti.
He recalled that Airat Abdullin had become the new Russian co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC). The authorities of the PMR are satisfied that the JCC keeps the situation in the security zone under control, which means that the peacekeeping activities are effective.
"Speaking of other areas — political dialogue, interagency cooperation, consular support for citizens, humanitarian issues — we are actively working with Russian diplomats. The Russian Federation continues to play an important role in the negotiation process, and Pridnestrovie is interested in maintaining its full participation in all significant processes," Ignatiev said.
The head of the PMR added that Chisinau is trying to increase pressure on the unrecognized republic, deliberately avoiding negotiations with Tiraspol. According to him, the actions of the Moldovan authorities are sabotage, which has acquired a systemic character.
On March 31, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova declared three employees of the Russian Embassy persona non grata in the republic. The relevant document was handed over to the Russian diplomat. It claims that the staff of the diplomatic mission allegedly conduct activities contrary to their diplomatic status in Moldova.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the decision of the Moldovan authorities to expel Russian diplomats from the republic is part of Chisinau's anti-Russian course. On April 2, the Moldovan opposition organized a rally in their support. On April 4, the Russian Foreign Ministry warned that Russia would expel three Moldovan diplomats in response to Chisinau's actions.
