The Easter service takes place on the night of April 20th. Church services begin on the evening of Holy Saturday, April 19, after 23:00 and will last until three o'clock in the morning. Izvestia is broadcasting online from the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

The Liturgy is conducted under the leadership of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

In 2025, the broadcast of the Easter service in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior is taking place for the 35th time. It will be available on the Izvestia website. The service will also be shown on federal TV channels. It will be possible to view it in the recording on the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The Easter service was first broadcast live in 1991. In this way, representatives of the Orthodox Church wanted to attract new parishioners, as well as share the beauty of one of the most solemn and joyful services of the year. Today, thanks to modern technology, believers can join the celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord from anywhere in the world, even if they have the opportunity to personally attend the temple.
