Chisinau is trying to increase pressure on the unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), avoiding negotiations with Tiraspol. This was announced on Friday, April 18, by the head of the Pridnestrovian Foreign Ministry, Vitaly Ignatiev.

"The goal is to dismantle an internationally recognized platform for dialogue, to free our hands to continue the blockade and restrictive measures, as well as to increase pressure on Pridnestrovie," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He called the actions of the Moldovan authorities sabotage, which is systemic in nature.

According to Ignatiev, the negotiations are deliberately canceled under far-fetched pretexts. At the same time, international partners and observers are taking a mostly passive position, the diplomat stressed.

Ignatiev noted that at the same time, the government of Pridnestrovie is striving to continue the dialogue.

On April 16, deputy of the Supreme Council of Transnistria Andrei Safonov said that Moldovan President Maia Sandu and her ruling euroglobalist-led Action and Solidarity party want to bring the country into conflict by destroying Gagauzia and Transnistria.

Earlier, on April 7, gas supplies to Transnistria were suspended for several days due to technical reasons.

On March 5, deputies of the PMR's parliament approved a decree extending the state of emergency until April 9, inclusive, and later it was extended again until May 9.
