Almost half of Russians spend less than 1,000 rubles on Easter preparations. This was confirmed on Friday, April 18, by a study by Fix Price in collaboration with the ROMIR Human Institute, the results of which were reviewed by "Газета.Ru ".

According to the survey, 86% of Russian residents celebrate Easter, and among respondents over the age of 55, this figure reaches 90%. 67% of the respondents called the holiday a family holiday, and 46% — a religious one.

The study showed that 86% of Russians celebrate Easter with their family, while only 7% spend the holiday with friends and 4% alone.

While 48% of Russians spend up to 1,000 rubles to prepare for the holiday, 37% fit into the amount of 1,000 to 3,000 rubles, and 12% allocate up to 5,000 rubles. Only 2% of respondents exceed this threshold.

Easter decorations are most often bought in small convenience stores (47%) and hypermarkets (43%). Marketplaces are popular only among young people aged 18-24 (46%).

78% of Russians do not give gifts on Easter, but 72% treat their relatives and friends. Among those who make gifts, 33% choose themed souvenirs, 23% choose household goods, and 20% choose decorative elements. Moscow residents give gifts more often (28%) than St. Petersburg residents (18%).

Egg painting remains the main Easter tradition: 71% of respondents observe it. In St. Petersburg, this figure is higher (76%) than in Moscow (64%).

Earlier that day, Izvestia got acquainted with Moneyplace analytics data, which revealed that Russians spent about 135 million rubles on themed goods on the eve of Easter in 2025, which is 2.8 times more than a year earlier. Thus, culinary products are in the greatest demand in online markets this year: almost 112 thousand sets of food dyes and over 98 thousand confectionery toppings were purchased in online markets.
