Iran's nuclear program is an existential threat to Israel and must be eliminated, Yevgeny Sova, deputy speaker of the Knesset and member of the Our Home Israel party, told Izvestia.

"The Iranian nuclear program is an existential threat to us that must be eliminated... Over the past year, Iran has twice attacked our territory directly. Unfortunately, Israel missed the opportunity to launch a preemptive strike against Iran's nuclear facilities between the US elections and President Trump's return to the White House. Today, this issue is back on the agenda," he said.

Speaking about the prospect of unilateral Israeli action in case diplomatic efforts fail, the politician emphasized that such decisions are in the government's hands.

"I can only assure that there is a broad consensus in the Knesset regarding Israel's decisive action against the Iranian nuclear program," Sova added.
