In preparation for Easter, Russians spent about 135 million rubles on Easter goods in 2025, which is 2.8 times more than a year earlier. This is on Friday, April 18, according to Moneyplace analytics data available to Izvestia.

Analysts studied sales on the Ozon and Wildberries marketplaces in April of this year and compared them with the same period in 2024.

Thus, culinary products are in the greatest demand in online markets this year: almost 112 thousand sets of food dyes and over 98 thousand confectionery toppings were purchased in online markets. Baking pans were bought 22 thousand pieces. Baking decor is also in the top (more than 94 thousand purchases) and icing (it was bought over 41 thousand times). Egg stickers are popular (57.7 thousand).

Contour analytics. The market analyzed 6 million receipts for April in retail and also noted an increase in consumer interest in products for cooking homemade cakes on the eve of the holiday.

"The average check for a ready-made Easter cake this month is 449 rubles. Its average cost increased by 12% compared to April last year. The main contributors to the price increase were milk (+5%), sugar (+11%), and butter (+22%). In addition, sprinkles and raisins rose in price, but this, unlike cakes, whose sales decreased by 23%, did not affect the decline in consumer demand, which suggests that more and more consumers are abandoning ready—made cakes from the store in favor of homemade ones," explained analyst Kontur.Ksenia Korzan Market.

Anastasia Romanova, an analyst at Moneyplace, adds that much attention is paid to the decor. To decorate the table and create a festive mood, the analyst said, painted plates and dishes (27.7 thousand), candles (7.2 thousand), tablecloths (5.4 thousand) and Easter figurines for compositions (6.8 thousand) were purchased.

"Compared to last year, revenue from sales of Easter candles (1283.15%), serving baskets (446.05%), DIY kits (433.69%), baking pans (249.83%), decorations and decorations for Easter (217.71%), Easter plates and dishes increased the most in relative terms. (139.31%), tablecloths (150.31%), chicken figurines (149%)," she concluded.

Earlier, on April 16, Maria Preobrazhenskaya, Palmira Art pastry chef, told Izvestia how to choose the right Easter cake and curd for the festive table. According to the expert, when buying a cake, you need to pay attention to the appearance. It should be smooth, not crumpled, not deformed. The cake should not show any breaks or cracks, and it should not crumble. This is important because improper transportation and storage of the cake can lead to loss of presentation and quality of the product.
