"The main track on which work is underway on the topic of the Ukrainian settlement is the Russian—American contacts that are continuing," TASS quoted him as saying.

The spokesman said that at the moment, the joint work of Moscow and Washington is continuing, but negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement are progressing rather difficult.

The parties will continue to discuss the full—fledged work of the diplomatic missions, but negotiations on the Black Sea Initiative are on hold.

Earlier, on April 13, Peskov said that the development of Russian-American relations is moving very well. He noted that contacts are underway between representatives of the special services and diplomatic departments of both countries, as well as regular exchange of visits by special representatives of the states, which is a solid channel for transmitting the positions of the US and Russian governments.
