The curators of the detainee in Pyatigorsk for preparing a terrorist attack were in Ukraine.

The curators of the planned terrorist attack in one of the leisure centers in Pyatigorsk were geographically located in Ukraine. This was announced on April 16 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Irina Volk.

"It has been previously established that the attacker is a supporter of an international terrorist organization. He was in active correspondence with his supervisors who were on the territory of Ukraine," MIA Media quoted her as saying.

Also, during the searches, three molotov cocktails, two knives, an axe, bank cards and a mobile device were found at the person involved in the case.

All of them were engaged in intelligence and subversive activities on the territory of Russia.

Earlier that day, security forces detained a foreigner who was planning to commit a terrorist attack in one of the leisure centers in Pyatigorsk. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 ("Terrorist act").
