German reservists have stated the need to return "tanks" road signs to bridges in the country, which would indicate that heavy military equipment can pass through them. This was reported by the Rheinische Post newspaper on April 16.

"Such signs appeared during the Cold War and informed military personnel about the bearing capacity of bridges. They have been removed from roadsides for many years, however, given the new threat situation, the need for their restoration is growing," the newspaper writes.

As the head of the German Reservists' Union, Patrick Zensburg, noted, the Bundeswehr does not know which surface structures can be used to transfer tanks, since the strength of many bridges has not been established, or they are completely closed.

"In this case, it is necessary to re—install road signs indicating the carrying capacity for military vehicles," he suggested.

It is noted that the weight of modern German battle tanks is from 50 tons, and this seriously limits the number of bridges over which they can pass. However, the country's military department said it had no plans to restore the signs yet, as the Bundeswehr has its own database indicating the carrying capacity of all crossings, she added.Газета.Ru ".

The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said on March 18 that Europe should have strong defense by 2030, for this it is necessary to rearm and develop capabilities for reliable deterrence. In particular, investments in the production of air and missile defense systems, as well as all modern types of drones and anti-drone systems, should be increased for this purpose.
