The key issues of the US-Iranian talks will be the introduction of restrictions on Tehran's uranium enrichment and arms control. This was announced on Tuesday, April 15, by Stephen Witkoff, the US President's special envoy for the Middle East.

"Negotiations with the Iranians will focus on two main points. First of all, it's [uranium] enrichment," Witkoff said on Fox News.

Thus, according to the diplomat, the value of Tehran's maximum uranium enrichment should not exceed 3.67%.

In addition, Witkoff said that weapons verification mechanisms will be introduced, including the number of missiles in Iran.

The special envoy of the President of the United States said that strict verification would serve as the basis for negotiations between the two countries, and in the absence of changes, the United States intends to look for other ways to resolve issues, Witkoff warned.

The first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on lifting sanctions and nuclear issues ended in Oman on April 12. During the meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Witkoff exchanged the positions of their governments on these issues in the presence of Omani Foreign Minister Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi.

At the end of the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the continuation of negotiations in a week. Araqchi said that during the second round, Iran will discuss with the United States the framework of possible agreements. In turn, Trump noted that the negotiations on Iran are going well.
