"Actually, everything is moving very well. The fact is that reanimating relations from scratch is a very difficult task, it requires very intense diplomatic and other efforts," he said.

According to Peskov, contacts are currently underway between representatives of the special services and diplomatic departments of both countries. The Kremlin representative also drew attention to the fact that there is also a regular exchange of visits between special representatives of states, which is a solid channel for transmitting the positions of the US and Russian governments.

At the same time, Peskov clarified that, despite the mutual contact between the Russian and American sides, "short-term" results should not be expected due to the difficult relations in the field of interstate relations under the previous administration of US President Joe Biden. Currently, Moscow and Washington are working to eliminate the consequences of this damage.

In addition, there are many nuances in the negotiation process related to the resumption of "normal activities" of the diplomatic missions of the two countries, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation summed up.

However, he clarified that such negotiations would take place at the "appropriate time" because it was necessary to prepare for this event.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on April 3 that Russia and the United States had achieved some success in eliminating bilateral irritants in their relations, but it was premature to talk about significant breakthroughs.
