Thousands of opposition marched in the center of Warsaw

In Warsaw, the largest Polish opposition party, Law and Justice (PiS), organized a march of thousands. This was reported by the Wiadomosci newspaper on April 12.
According to the city Hall, 200 buses with party supporters arrived in Warsaw, while the total number of those who took part in the march was about 20 thousand people. In turn, Mariusz Blaszczak, the former head of the Polish Defense Ministry from the PiS party, said that about 100 thousand people participated in the rally.
It is noted that the action took place on the eve of the Polish presidential election, the first round of which will begin on April 18. At the same time, the event is officially dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the Polish Kingdom and the 500th anniversary of the Prussian homage (the vassal oath of allegiance to the King of Poland, the Prussian Duke Albrecht Hohenzollern).
The march was attended by PiS Chairman Jaroslaw Kaczynski, presidential candidate from the party Karol Nawrocki and other members of the faction.
The Myśl Polska newspaper reported on April 10 that the recent events in Romania and France related to the presidential elections force us to assume a repeat of the situation in Poland. For example, the EU may interfere in the Polish presidential election. It was noted that recent polls show an increase in the popularity of non-systemic candidate Slawomir Menzen.
