- Ulyanov called the results of the negotiations between the United States and Iran in Oman encouraging.

The results of the first round of bilateral talks between the United States and Iran in Oman are encouraging, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, said on April 12.
"Following today's meeting in Oman, both the Iranians and the Americans described the talks as positive and constructive. This is encouraging," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Ulyanov also drew attention to the fact that the parties have agreed on a new meeting in Oman, which is scheduled for next Saturday, April 19.
Earlier in the day, the first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on lifting sanctions and nuclear issues ended in Oman. During the meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff, exchanged the positions of their governments on these issues in the presence of the Omani Foreign Minister.
At the end of the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced the continuation of negotiations in a week. Araqchi said that during the second round, Iran will discuss with the United States the framework of possible agreements.
