Iran will discuss the framework of possible agreements with the United States during the second round of negotiations on nuclear issues. This was announced on April 12 by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi.

"At the next meeting, we will outline the general framework within which an agreement can be reached, and see how far we can advance this process," the IRNA news agency quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.

According to the Foreign Minister, during the first meeting, the United States sought to demonstrate its readiness for a "fair agreement." He also called the talks with the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Steven Witkoff, productive.

Araqchi added that the next meeting with American representatives will be held on April 19. The place of negotiations has not yet been definitively determined.

Earlier in the day, the first round of negotiations between the United States and Iran on lifting sanctions and nuclear issues ended in Oman. During the meeting, Araqchi and Witkoff exchanged the positions of their governments on these issues in the presence of the Omani Foreign Minister.

On the same day, the official representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Bakai, said that the main goal of negotiations with the United States on Iran's part is to ensure the country's national interests. At the current round of negotiations, the parties will only exchange basic positions on the nuclear issue, he noted.
