Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations rescued a pregnant woman from the rubble in Myanmar for five hours. This was announced to Izvestia on April 11 by Mikhail Fedosov, a rescuer of the department of the first class of the Centrospas airmobile detachment.

According to him, the woman spent about three days under the rubble of a seven-story hotel. He noted that the rescuers were very lucky to have an interpreter with them, who heard her voice.

"There are just seven floors of concrete above us, and everything is in ruins. And they saw her hair in the crack and started digging in that direction. It all lasted five hours. It's a huge miracle that she survived," the specialist said.

Oleg Alekseev, a first-class rescuer of the Centrospas airmobile detachment, shared that the locals are very helpful in any way they can, despite the fact that what happened turned out to be a great grief for the people.

In turn, Vladimir Beregudov, an international class rescuer of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Centrospas airmobile detachment, shared that Russian rescuers have always interacted with the Belarusian team in matters of coordination. According to him, all the teams split up to work at different locations.

"The dog works very hard in the heat, so we took care of our four-legged friends. We were provided with air-conditioned buses by the local authorities to make it easier for them to survive this heat. But they coped with a five—plus, there were no special difficulties for them," said Nikolai Zhdanov, senior officer of the special cynological work department.

He added that this business trip demonstrated that Russian rescuers, dogs and other relevant agencies are ready to work and provide assistance anywhere in the world.

This morning, Russian rescuers completed the main stage of the operation in Myanmar after the earthquake and returned to Russia. In total, 100 specialists of the Centrospas airmobile detachment and representatives of the Leader Center for Special Risk Rescue Operations participated in the search and rescue operation.

On April 7, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that Russian rescuers had surveyed 75 buildings in Myanmar covering an area of 121 thousand square meters in search of earthquake-affected people. In addition, since the beginning of the hospital's work, 229 citizens have applied for medical help. The doctors of the Ministry of Emergency Situations performed three complex surgical operations.

On March 28, it became known about two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. 3.6 thousand people died in the natural disaster in the republic, and more than 5 thousand were injured.
