An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 was registered in Myanmar. This was confirmed on April 11 by data from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to the interactive map, the hearth was located at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 14 km northeast of the city of Maithila with a population of 177 thousand people and 116 km south of Mandalay, which has a population of more than 1.2 million people.

Currently, there is no information about casualties or damage.

On March 28, it became known about two earthquakes in Myanmar of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. As a result of the natural disaster, 3.6 thousand people died in the republic, and another 5,017 were injured. The next day, on March 29, over 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance.

On April 9, the head of the operational group of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Sergey Vorontsov, announced the completion of the active phase of the search and rescue operation at the earthquake site in Myanmar by Russian rescuers. He added that Russian medical workers provided assistance to 330 residents of Myanmar in a car hospital. On the same day, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered another cargo of humanitarian aid to Myanmar for the earthquake-affected population.
