Russians Sidelnikova and Verbina won gold at the European Wrestling Championships


Russian athletes Anastasia Sidelnikova and Ekaterina Verbina won gold at the European Freestyle Wrestling Championships on April 10.
It is specified that Sidelnikova held a meeting with an athlete from Turkey, Bediha Gun, as part of a competition in the weight category up to 59 kg. Their confrontation ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the Russian.
Verbina, in turn, defeated the representative of France Tatiana Debien in the weight category up to 55 kg.
The tournament in Bratislava will last until April 13. Athletes from Russia compete at the tournament under the banner of the United World of Wrestling.
Russian freestyle wrestler Zaur Uguev won the 61 kg weight class at the European Championships in Bratislava on April 9. In the fight for the championship, the 30-year-old Russian defeated the Armenian athlete Arsen Harutyunyan.
