Traffic police officers with shooting detained an armed man in Obninsk

Employees of the traffic patrol service (DPS) detained an armed man in one of the courtyards of the city of Obninsk in the Kaluga region, for this they had to use their service weapons. This was announced on April 10 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, traffic police officers arrived at the scene of the emergency after reporting that there was a drunk driver there. The man was sitting in the car, however, when he saw people in uniform, he got out of the car and began threatening law enforcement officers, pointing a gun at them.

The traffic police officers had to use their service weapons. After several warning shots in the air, the man was apprehended.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kaluga region, the incident occurred on Polenova Street. The violator ignored the demand of the traffic police officers to stop their aggressive actions.

"The citizen continued to show aggression towards the police. Then, using martial fighting techniques, the police detained the man and took him to the police department for trial. An object similar to a weapon has been seized and will be sent for research," the agency's website says.

Earlier, on April 5, in Moscow, a man opened fire with a traumatic pistol at law enforcement officers. As the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the capital informed Izvestia, the police received a message that an unknown man was threatening a man with a weapon on Orekhov Boulevard. After that, the officers found the car in which the alleged violator was and blocked it on Kustanayskaya Street. During the arrest, the man started shooting towards the guards, but was wounded by return fire and detained.
