Lukashenko pointed to the lack of democracy in Western countries

There has never been a democracy in Western countries. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with the Mir television and radio company on April 10.
According to him, in the USA and France, for example, there can be no democracy — they have totalitarianism.
"You, journalists, have already listed many things: Marine Le Pen, Hutsul, and others. It's terrible in any country. There was no democracy there. And what was there, they carefully hid under the cloth. As I say, under the baseboard," the Belarusian leader stressed.
Earlier in the day, Myśl Polska reported that the recent events in Romania and France related to the presidential elections force us to assume a seizure of state power and convince us that something is wrong with democracy in the understanding of the European Union (EU).
As noted in the publication, when candidates outside the system gain the upper hand, they are banned from participating in the elections (the leader of the parliamentary faction of the French National Unification party, Marine Le Pen, and the opposition Romanian politician Calin Georgescu).
