A captured Ukrainian Armed Forces militant reported a lack of treatment during training in the UK

Dmitry Goncharenko, a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), said on Wednesday, April 9, that while studying in the UK, he was admitted to the hospital, where he was simply given pills and sent back to military training two days later.

The man was given a summons to the army when he was traveling from Boryspil to Sumy. Goncharenko was enlisted in the airborne assault forces and sent to study in the UK. According to him, during the preparation for the mobilization, they demonstrated a "disgusting attitude", the militants did little shooting and mostly listened to theoretical lectures. If they missed classes, then no one taught them anything else.

Goncharenko also said that during a training course in the kingdom, he was admitted to a medical facility, where he stayed for two days. There he was given two pills, after which he was forced to return to military training.

Since December 2023, as part of his service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he stood at a checkpoint and checked his passes. Not far away, at a distance of 100-150 m, there was a position that I had to visit periodically. One day, grenades hit there, one ended up between the dugout and the entrance, the other under the door. After the explosion, the Ukrainian militants shouted that they were surrendering. They came out one at a time, and the Russian fighters captured them.

"Surrender, it's okay here, <...> we are being treated well," Goncharenko summed up in a video posted by the Russian Defense Ministry.
