Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations examined 75 buildings in Myanmar on an area of 121 thousand square meters in search of people affected by the earthquake.

"Of this territory, over 10 thousand square meters of 12 destroyed objects per day. In total, the rubble of 75 buildings was examined," the department's Telegram channel said on April 7.

As specified in the message, dog handlers check the areas after receiving a certain signal. Due to the collapses, it is impossible to work at full height, so rescuers are laying narrow passages in the rubble and dismantling structures almost in a sitting position.

In addition, since the beginning of the hospital's work, 229 citizens have applied for medical help. Doctors of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations performed three complex surgical operations. Psychologists are working with the victims and their relatives.

On April 6, it was reported that the death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar reached 3,564 people. Local and international rescue organizations conducted searches and rescued 653 survivors and recovered the remains of 682 victims from the rubble.

The Prime Minister of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlaing, thanked the specialists of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for their help in dealing with the earthquake. It was noted that in the near future it is planned to send three more planes with humanitarian aid to Myanmar with a total weight of about 100 tons.

On April 5, Sergey Tsvetkov, a rescuer from the Centrospas detachment of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, who is involved in the aftermath of the earthquake, shared with Izvestia that the work on dismantling rubble poses a danger to the specialists themselves, including due to the collapse of buildings at the work site. He stressed that the progress of work to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake depends on the receiving Russian rescuers.

Two earthquakes in Myanmar of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 became known on March 28. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay.
