An "orange" weather danger level has been announced in Moscow.


Due to heavy snowfall, "orange", the penultimate level of weather danger, will be in effect in Moscow until the morning of April 7. This was confirmed on April 6 by data from the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
According to the forecast map, icing and heavy snow are forecast in the capital until 09:00 on Monday, sometimes very heavy. The "orange" weather hazard level indicates the likelihood of natural disasters and damage.
Also, a northeasterly wind with gusts up to 15 m/s and a snowstorm will remain in Moscow until the morning of April 7.
According to the emergency warning of the Hydrometeorological Center, up to 20 mm of precipitation may fall in the capital region, 15 mm of which will fall between 21:00 on April 6 and 09:00 on April 7.
In the afternoon, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation, told Izvestia that heavy precipitation would remain in Moscow and the region until about April 8. According to him, the snow cover in the capital region will come down no earlier than in a week.
The day before, Vilfand also warned that a significant cold snap is expected in the regions of the southern European part of the Russian Federation by the middle of next week, as well as rains starting this weekend. Even negative temperatures are expected at night in the steppe regions of Crimea.
