In Yakutia, a check was launched after reports of two men being held in slavery

An inspection was launched in the Nyurbinsky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) after reports of the illegal imprisonment of two men. This was announced on Sunday, April 6, by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the republic.
"According to a report about the illegal imprisonment of two people by a resident of the Nyurbinsky district, a procedural check is being conducted," the agency writes in its Telegram channel.
The circumstances of the incident are currently being established, including interviews and examinations.
Based on the results of the verification measures, a procedural decision will be made, the SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Yakutia clarified.
Earlier, on October 25, 2024, it was reported that a deputy of the Council of People's Deputies of the Sobinsky Municipal District was arrested in the Vladimir region, who is suspected of fraud and the use of slave labor. Along with him, "other members of an organized criminal group" were also detained.
