The work of dismantling rubble after natural disasters is fraught with various dangers, including the collapse of buildings in the area where specialists work. On April 5, Sergey Tsvetkov, a rescuer from the Centrospas detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, who is involved in the aftermath of the earthquake in Myanmar, told Izvestia.

"The difficulty, first of all, of course, is always the possibility of collapse. You can see that a lot of construction debris and bricks are flying during the excavator operation. <...> Anything can be dangerous," he said.

In addition, Tsvetkov drew attention to the fact that the progress of work on the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters depends entirely on the receiving Russian specialists.

For example, in Myanmar, Russians were provided with low excavators, which is why rescuers have to create a "podium" of soil for vehicles to access high areas. The delivery of the material, in turn, also falls on the shoulders of the host country.

On March 28, it became known about two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. The natural disaster in the republic killed 3,455 people, and another 4,840 were injured.

The next day, over 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance to the affected population. So, in Mandalay, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, together with colleagues from China, pulled a woman who had been lying there for more than two days out of the rubble.
