The death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar has increased to 3,455 people. This was announced on April 5 by the local state broadcaster Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV).

4,840 people were also injured during the disaster. 214 residents of the country are missing.

According to Sergei Vorontsov, head of the combined detachment of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in Myanmar, the Russian airmobile hospital in the republic has already received more than 150 local residents, 30 of them were children. Over the past 24 hours, Russian medics have helped more than 37 injured people.

On March 28, it became known about two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 recorded in the Asian republic. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay.

The next day, over 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance to the affected population. So, in Mandalay, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, together with colleagues from China, pulled a woman who had been lying there for more than two days out of the rubble.
