Russian Emergencies Ministry medics helped 61 earthquake victims in Myanmar during the day.

Medical rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations provided assistance to 61 victims of the earthquake in Myanmar during the day. This was reported on April 5 in the press service of the department.

"During the day, doctors provided assistance to 61 victims, including nine children. There are 137 citizens in total, 14 of them are children," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that during the day, specialists performed 24 surgical operations, and for the entire time — 43 medical interventions. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, psychologists of the department support the victims in performing medical procedures.

Despite the hot weather, which complicates the work, during the day the specialists of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations examined more than 12 thousand square meters of a dozen buildings in search of people.

Two earthquakes in Myanmar became known on March 28. Their magnitudes were 7.7 and 6.4. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. According to the latest data, 3,301 people were killed and 4,792 others were injured as a result of the earthquake.

On March 29, over 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance to the affected population. So, in Mandalay, the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, together with colleagues from China, pulled out from under the rubble a woman who had been lying there for more than two days. In total, Russian rescuers provided assistance to more than 120 residents of the republic.
