Due to the lack of a backup captain on the way from the shore to the offshore platform, the ship was operated by several divers, said the captain of the Sinbad. According to him, the cause of the crash may be "interference in the systems" of the bathyscaphe before the start of the flight.

The publication also stressed that as a result of the inspection of the sunken vessel by members of the technical commission, no damage was found on the hull.
