Nissan to suspend orders for Mexican Infiniti models due to Trump's tariffs

Japanese car manufacturer Nissan Motor has temporarily refused orders for two models of Infiniti SUV manufactured in Mexico for the American market due to import duties imposed in the United States. This was reported by Reuters on April 4.
"Nissan Motor announced on Thursday that it will suspend new orders for two Mexican-made Infiniti SUVs for the U.S. market after the entry into force of new automobile duties imposed by President Donald Trump," the agency reports.
It is clarified that instead it was decided to keep the production of the Rogue SUV at the Tennessee plant in two shifts. Earlier, the company announced plans to reduce production to one shift.
On March 26, President Trump announced the introduction of 25 percent duties in the United States on all cars and trucks manufactured outside the country. He clarified that these measures will come into force on April 2 and will be added to the existing ones. The White House estimates that approximately $100 billion in annual duties will be collected.
