The State Duma (DG) adopted a resolution prematurely terminating the powers of deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Yuri Napso, reported on April 3 on the website of the lower house of parliament.

The reason for this decision was the conclusion of the Commission on Parliamentary Ethics, which found that the Napso does not perform its duties for 30 days or more, and also does not attend meetings.

"The State Duma is increasing the demand from deputies for work and attendance, continuing to increase discipline. Each deputy has a special legal status that imposes responsibilities and duties," the press service said.

It was also established that since April 2023, Napso often took sick leave, and in between simply did not come to work. In general, the parliamentarian has not been to the State Duma for about two years, and for more than 200 days — without a valid reason.

It is also known that Napso has been living in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for about two years now.

On April 2, it was reported that Marina Degtyareva, the head of the Korenevsky district of the Kursk region, resigned at her own request. The decision to terminate her powers was made by the representative assembly of the district. Acting Deputy head Vladimir Zhilinkov was appointed acting head of the district. He will hold this position until the competitive selection for the post of new head is completed.
