What happened in Petrozavodsk

The fire was reported to the duty station at 09:50. The fire occurred in the production box of the Onega Shipbuilding Plant on Rigachina Street, 25. The production box caught fire on an area of 1.5 thousand square meters. m. Currently, the fire is extinguished.

The Karelian State Committee for Life Support and Safety of the Population reported that at 11:26 a.m. the fire was localized on an area of 1.7 thousand square meters. m.

According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was an explosion of a gas cylinder. The fire spread quickly through the room, then the flames spread to the roof.

Paramedics and employees of the operational headquarters of the Fire Extinguishing Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic arrived at the scene. In total, over 60 people and 20 pieces of equipment, including quadrocopters, were involved in eliminating the fire to survey the plant's territory.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that three people were evacuated from the workshop and hospitalized. Information about the three victims was also confirmed by the head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov.
