- In the UK, they promised to calmly accept the introduction of new duties from the United States.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Chairman of the British Trade Council, Jonathan Reynolds, promised to "remain calm" against the background of the introduction of new duties in the amount of 10% by the United States. To mitigate their consequences, London plans to conclude an economic agreement with Washington, Reuters reported on April 3.
"The United States is our closest ally, so our approach is to remain calm and committed to concluding this deal, which we hope will mitigate the consequences of what was announced today," Reynolds said.
The official noted that the UK "will not hesitate" to act on this issue and plans to use the available tools to move towards an agreement.
A day earlier, on April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of mutual trade duties for all countries of the world. He noted that the profits earned will be used to pay off the national debt and reduce taxes for American citizens.
On March 26, Trump announced the introduction of 25 percent duties in the United States on all cars and trucks manufactured outside the country. He clarified that these measures will come into force on April 2 and will be added to the existing ones. The White House estimates that approximately $100 billion in annual duties will be collected.
