The agreement between the Governments of Russia and Lithuania on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters has officially expired. This is stated in the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry, published on April 2 on the official portal of legal information.

"On March 31, 2025, the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters was terminated," reads a statement posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The agreement was signed in Moscow on February 24, 1995.

Earlier, on March 22, it was reported that Lithuania plans to mine the borders with Russia and Belarus following the example of Poland. A meeting of the heads of law enforcement agencies of the Baltic states was held in Vilnius, during which it was decided to strengthen the northeastern flank with anti-personnel and anti-tank mines.
