The roof of a five-story building caught fire in Makhachkala, the Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of Dagestan reported on April 2.
"There has been a report of a fire in the roof of a five-storey apartment building in Makhachkala. Firefighters are on site," the department's Telegram channel says.
They clarified that 60 people were evacuated from the building. There was no information about the victims.
The press service of the regional prosecutor's office reported that, previously, the roof on Gagarin Street caught fire due to a short circuit in the electrical wiring.
The prosecutor's office has organized a check on the incident. The reasons and circumstances are being investigated.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that three people, including one child, were killed in a nighttime fire in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The tragedy occurred on Oktyabrskaya Street in the city of Zaozerny. The fire was extinguished on an area of 36 sq. m.
