An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 was recorded in Iceland. This was announced on April 1 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

According to him, the earthquake occurred at 16:54 local time (19:54 Moscow time). The epicenter was located 26 km southwest of Reykjavik, where 118 thousand people live. The hearth was located at a depth of 10 km.

Currently, 264 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working in the country. An airmobile hospital of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has been opened, which is designed for 50 inpatient patients and up to 200 outpatient patients per day.
