An airmobile hospital of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has been fully operational in the earthquake-affected city center of Mandalay. This was reported on April 1 in the Telegram channel of the department.
"More than 20 doctors provide qualified medical care. The first patients are treated in therapeutic, surgical and intensive care units. Psychologists of the department provide emergency assistance to the victims," the message says.
It is noted that the hospital will work around the clock. On an outpatient basis, he can receive up to 200 patients per day, the hospital is designed for 50 patients. The Ministry of Emergency Situations added that complex surgical operations can be performed there.
Earlier that day, the department reported that the largest group of rescuers had been formed to help the people of Myanmar affected by the devastating earthquake. Currently, 264 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working in the country.
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in the Asian republic. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. The death toll is more than 2.7 thousand people.
The next day, more than 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance to the affected population. So, in the city of Mandalay, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, together with colleagues from China, pulled a woman who had been lying there for more than two days out of the rubble.
