The largest group of rescuers has been formed to provide assistance to the people of Myanmar affected by the devastating earthquake. This was announced on April 1 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Telegram channel.
There are currently 264 Russian rescuers working in the country. Two more aircraft from the Russian Federation arrived in the affected region the day before.
It is noted that specialists from Russia "are involved in the elimination of the consequences of the strongest earthquake in the republic."
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in the Asian republic. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. The death toll is more than 2 thousand people. The next day, more than 100 Russian rescuers arrived in Myanmar to provide assistance to the affected population. So, in the city of Mandalay, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, together with colleagues from China, pulled a woman who had been lying there for more than two days out of the rubble.
