The first step taken by Russia and the United States to normalize relations is encouraging. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday, April 1, by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China (PRC). Wang Yi.
"Russia and the United States have taken the first step in normalizing relations, this is for the benefit of stabilizing the balance of power between major powers and inspires optimism in the disappointing international situation," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
In addition, the diplomat noted that there is now a "growing lack of certainty" in the world.
According to Wang Yi, in such circumstances, the major powers should act as a "stabilizing factor" by fulfilling their obligations.
On March 19, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Donald Trump plan to gradually normalize Russian-American relations based on mutual respect, trust and benefit.
