President of Republika Srpska Dodik arrives in Moscow

President of the Republika Srpska (RS), the entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik arrived in Moscow and visited the Grave of the Unknown Soldier. He announced this on Monday, March 31.
"I arrived in Moscow. Every visit I make here begins with a visit to the monument to the Unknown Soldier to pay tribute to the 28 million Russians who died during the Second World War," he said on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
At the same time, the head of the republic added that he would visit the capital again at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 9.
Prior to that, on March 12, it was reported that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) had decided to detain Dodik and Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Viskovic.
On February 26, a court in Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced Dodik to a year in prison in absentia and banned him from political activity for six years. This decision can be appealed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called Dodik's sentence "an undisguised mockery of the foundations of the rule of law." The President of Republika Srpska, in turn, indicated that the autonomy would not take the verdict into account because it was based on the decision of Schmidt, a foreigner who had no legitimate authority without the appointment of the United Nations (UN).
