Fico spoke about criticism from von der Leyen for his talks with Trump

The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, chastised Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico for his talks with US President Donald Trump. The Slovak leader said this on March 31 at a press conference before an extraordinary government meeting, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel e.Report.
"Today I spoke on the phone with the president of the European Commission <...> She scolded me terribly.: "Robert, what have you done? Why on earth did you have such negotiations with Trump? Are you normal?" She scolded me for half an hour, saying I was a complete idiot," Fico said.
He stressed that French President Emmanuel Macron also met with the American leader in Washington.
"At the same time, he (Macron. — Ed.) not bad, but I'm bad. I think all of us, first of all, should calm down a little when it comes to criticism at any cost and under any circumstances," concluded the Prime Minister of Slovakia.
Slovak President Peter Pellegrini said on February 22 that the actions of the new White House administration led by Trump should shake up the European continent. He noted that currently politics uses a language different from the usual one.
In the same month, NBC reported that the United States may reduce its military presence in Europe due to priorities in the Asia-Pacific region and the situation on the border with Mexico. According to them, the Ukrainian delegation is "stunned" because Kiev considers the possible reduction of the American military contingent in Europe to be a long-term threat to the country's security.
