- Rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are searching under the rubble for a survivor in the city of Mandalay

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations are looking for a survivor under the rubble in the city of Mandalay in Myanmar. This was announced on March 31 in the press service of the Russian ministry.
Rescuers began to dismantle the rubble, using a grinder to cut rebar. Two excavators are also involved at the scene, aimed at clearing the collapsed structures.
In addition, experts are trying to use a special camera to look under the slabs, because, according to local residents, there may be a living person under the rubble.
A service dog specially trained to search for living people gave a special sign. There is probably a survivor under the rubble. To access it, specialists disassemble the structures. The operation may take several hours, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
According to Izvestia correspondent Alexander Morozov from Myanmar, the 40-degree heat complicates the rescue of earthquake victims. Local volunteers are handing out medical masks that help a little bit from the smell of burning. Two excavators are dismantling large collapses.
"Rescuers are trying to get through the slabs using a special camera... There may be a living person under the rubble," the correspondent said.
On March 28, two earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in Myanmar. The epicenter of one of them was located 31 km northwest of the city of Mandalay. As of March 31, the death toll exceeded 2 thousand people in Myanmar, more than 3.9 thousand were injured, and 270 are missing.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation reported on March 29 that more than 100 Russian rescuers had arrived in Myanmar to provide medical assistance to the affected population. In the city of Mandalay, Russian rescuers together with colleagues from China on March 31 pulled a woman who had been lying there for more than two days out from under the rubble.
